Orchard View - Hertfordshire

We were commissioned as Landscape Designer at the project outset in 2018, working with the project management team at Spring Residential and the delivery architects, Strom Architects to deliver a landscape design and build package alongside the main contractor. We were ultimately responsible for the detailed design and delivery of both hard and soft landscaping on what is an exciting modern take on a country house.

We sourced Portuguese granite for the hard landscaping at the front of the house including a series of trammel lines, steps and wall cladding with extensive porcelain and millboard decking used to the rear.  Carefully designed and constructed retaining walls allow the house to sit very comfortably on a large and extended plot utilising existing and new trees to great effect.

An extremely high level of detailing was required to produce a simple, understated scheme that expresses an effortless elegance that will greatly improve over time.
