Working with the developer of this exclusive home on Radlett’s Ridgeway, we set out to achieve a garden that featured a classical layout with a contemporary twist.
Structuring the garden as a set of distinct rooms, traditional topiary elements of Cubed Hornbeam ‘feature trees' and box hedging, juxtaposed with evergreen ‘cloud’ hedges and swathes of prairie planting create a visually stimulating vista and experience.
The ‘garden rooms’ are articulated with selected pieces of modern sculpture carefully selected by the client including, exclusive tall copper planters. A focal point for the garden is achieved by a large pergola wrapped in Herbaceous borders placed at the end of the garden that enjoys a series of interesting views looking back up towards the house and that creates the perfect place to relax in this garden oasis that succeeds in fusing traditional and modern garden design.
